The Wizard's Discontent shows a wizard who isn't feeling content, even in a space where he should be.

Slumped over in his comfortable wooden chair, the wizard is surrounded by a complex tapestry laid over a warm stone floor, herbs hung below an airy window looking onto the moon, and an imperfect gold framed painting fixed above a crackling wood fire, all within the safety of a cozy castle room.

This piece was created to acknowledge the idea that any of us can feel discontent, even in places that we should feel comfortable and secure. Sometimes the reason for the feeling doesn't become apparent for a long time and that's okay.

This piece took a total of 24 hours to complete. With month long hiatuses and design choices evolving along the way, The Wizard's Discontent was one of my favourite works to paint.
